30 Firms and People Providing Support to PH Covid19 Frontliners |Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the whole world is on lockdown. Fears and anxiety stream down the web, as the virus quickly spreads with tens of thousands of new cases getting every day. When all hope is lost, only our modern-day heroes can save the day.

Here are some of them:

1. Caltex 

A leading petroleum brand Chevron Corporation. According to the Group post,” Caltex in partnership with JAC Liner, one of country’s largest bus companies, provides shuttle buses servicing frontliners and health workers following the enhanced community quarantine in the metro.

Caltex will be providing fuel support to JAC Liner amounting to PHP 250,000 to four shuttle buses that will cover PITX to Alabang and Ortigas to Shaw Boulevard until April first week.

2. Nutriasia

The Philippine food company has pledged P100-M in an alliance with Project Ugnayan for the distribution of grocery packs consisting of basic goods and food essentials or grocery vouchers to the most affected residents of Metro Manila to tide them over this difficult time.

3. Stay Strong PH – Bayanihan Tayo [Luzon Lockdown]  FB Group

Created by digital evangelist and digital transformation expert Homer Nievera, this Facebook Group was formed in the early hours of the announcement of the Luzon-wide lockdown.

The author asked Nievera what drove him to create the group, and said he felt that confusion, fear and chaos could possibly rise when the lockdown was imposed. He just wanted a forum that will synthesize all legit information and effect some positivism and volunteerism in the situation. Calls for donations to hospitals and checkpoints were immediately answered, as well as a call to build mobile respirators with logistical supplies provided within 5 minutes on the FB group. His call for help for the frontliners in hospitals, he said, was but natural given his son, Dr. Karl Nievera, is a medical resident at the Asian Hospital.

4. DLSU

According to their Facebook post “De La Salle University serves as a temporary sanctuary to the homeless in Manila during the enhanced community quarantine.”

Sixty-one individuals, among them women and elderly, are currently staying on the 2nd floor of the Enrique Razon Sports Center until the Luzon-wide lockdown is lifted. A noble act indeed.

5. Glorious Blend

A sugar-free Coffee company owned by GIDC has been spotted donating coffee to frontliners and checkpoints all over Metro Manila in the first 48 hours of the ECQ. They were the first company to respond to the call for donations through the posting on the #StayStrongPH Facebook Group. They also donated seeds to initiate backyard planting, bibles, and The Daily Bread bible guides.

6. Gcash

According to the Gcash Facebook Post, “As of March 26, we have distributed P504,127.16 to each of our seven partner organizations below.” But as of March 26, they were able to collect 4.8 million pesos in donations.

7. Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf

It has been spotted showing support for our frontliners. By offering coffee to frontliners at the Asian Hospital in Muntinlupa.

8. MFC Singles

A Catholic young adult ministry helped with distributing donations to major hospitals and checkpoints all around Metro Manila. They were the so called first responders during the first 48 hours of the ECQ or lockdown.

9. Barracks Bar & Restaurant

Has been providing meals for our frontliners according to this March 22 post.

10. The Camillian Philanthropic

According to their Facebook post “While on home quarantine, the Camillians help in the prevention of the spread of Covid-19. Preparing hygiene and health kits to be distributed to Camillian adopted urban communities.”

11. The Cabangon Family Hotels

They have opened their hotels to frontliners in Palawan and other places in the Philippines.

12. The Hungry Syrian Wanderer

The famous Youtube Influencer has donated all of his restaurant food to less fortunate Filipinos.

13. The Standard Group

According to their Facebook page post, “This week, to continue our support for our frontliners, we’ve re-mobilized our commissary to prepare and deliver 1,000 meals a day to be distributed to hospitals all throughout Metro Manila.”

Even small food shops like Au’s Kitchen has been very generous by providing dinner to 30 families.

Had pledged to donate P100 Million to help combat COVID19. The group stated, “The amount would go towards providing personal protective equipment, test kits, alcohol, and other medical supplies to the Philippine General Hospital, Research Institute for Tropical Medicine, along with other hospitals.”

Has committed P100 million to boost the supply of coronavirus (COVID-19) test kits and personal protective equipment (PPE) for healthcare workers battling the pandemic.
